Wild in Art and Manchester City Council teamed up for the first Bee in the City event – a celebration of the spirit of the city. Bee in the City is made up of more than 100 large-scale sculptures that form a trail across Manchester.
Each bee was designed by a different artist and is meant to represent every facet of Manchester life and culture.
Until 23 September, the bees will adorn Manchester in an effort to bring people together and raise money for the Lord Mayor of Manchester’s We Love MCR Charity.
The charity aims to improve the lives and life chances of Manchester people.
Helical Plc and Churchgate and Lee House are proud to have two occupiers who sponsored bees this year: Marketing Manchester and CG Business Growth Hub.
Marketing Manchester’s bee is known as “Map of the Worker Bees.” It was designed by Caroline Coates as a depiction of the city’s growth since the Industrial Revolution. Learn more about the bee here.
GC Business Growth Hub sponsored a bee designed by world-renowned street artists kELzO. Named “Bee Lieve in Manchester,” the bee captures the city’s commercial and cultural spirit. Find out more here.
